Kuwait has strict customs regulations, and all sea shipments are subject to customs duties and inspection. Air freight is slightly more flexible but still requires advanced preparation. Here’s what to expect:

Documents must be submitted 5 days prior to shipment arrival. All items must be consigned in the name of the owner.
💡 Important: An Arabic authorization letter must be issued by your employer on official letterhead, stamped, and signed by an authorised company signatory. This gives power to the destination agent to handle customs on your behalf.
Duty-Free Allowance? Limited.
Duty-free entry is only allowed on shipments with a C&F value of less than USD $1,000—as estimated by customs. Anything above this limit will incur a 5% customs duty on the full value of the goods.
This applies to all non-diplomatic shipments by sea.
Air shipments may be slightly quicker to clear but are subject to similar documentation requirements. No duty-free exemptions apply beyond the $1,000 limit, so budgeting for duties is important.

Shipping Vehicles to Kuwait
🚫 Only Kuwaiti citizens and diplomats can import vehicles into Kuwait.
Non-Kuwaitis are not permitted to bring in their personal vehicles.
Additionally:

Temporary import permits are valid for only 30 days.
